2001 — A Farewell

The Raphaels released their album Supernatural in May 2001 and played a short run of UK and Irish dates, but the tour was cut short when Stuart relapsed and again sought treatment.

On 26 November 2001, concerns for Stuart’s safety escalated when he was reported missing. Friends, family, and colleagues began searching for him, and a private investigator was hired as days passed with no word. The search stretched across weeks and continents, tracing what little information could be gathered about his movements.

 

On 16 December, Stuart was located in Honolulu, Hawaii, where he had died by suicide.

He was 43 years old.
